AutoHunter Spotlight: 1964 Chevrolet Corvette

Up for auction on AutoHunter, the online auction platform driven by ClassicCars.com, is a 1964 Chevrolet Corvette convertible that was the recipient of a body-off restoration before the seller acquired it in 2015. The C2 Corvette has been kept in a climate-controlled storage facility since then.

“Of the 14,925 convertible Corvettes produced in 1964, 3,454 were finished in Daytona Blue (916) as shown on this restored example,” the auction site says in the convertible’s listing.

The body sports a “Power Blister” style big block hood, which is not an original feature for the 1964 models, along with chrome bumpers and trim pieces. Both a hardtop and soft top are included in the sale.

Matching the exterior, the interior is finished in blue leather upholstery with bucket seating, manual crank windows, and the factory AM/FM radio that has been updated with Bluetooth and an Alpine power pack.

Power comes from a non-original 350cid small-block V8 paired with a Muncie 4-speed manual transmission. It’s dressed with a chrome air cleaner, late model center-bolt valve covers, an Accel HEI distributor and correct ram horn style exhaust manifolds.

This C2 Corvette’s auction ends July 23 at 11:20 a.m. PDT.
